The first person with a Neuralink chip implanted in his brain wrote a tweet with the power of thought
Earlier, he had pushed the pieces along the chessboard on the laptop screen with the power of his mind.
The first patient with a Neuralink chip implanted in his brain wrote his first post on the social network X (formerly Twitter) using the power of thought. Neuralink and X company owner Elon Musk informed them about it.
"The first post written with the power of thought using the Neuralink telepathy device!" wrote billionaire and patient Nolan Arbo, pointing to a post on his page.
"Twitter banned me as a bot, but Elon Musk restored the page," the patient wrote in a message.
Nolan Arbo, 29, was paralyzed from the shoulders down after an accident eight years ago. On January 28, neurotechnology company Neuralink implanted a neurochip in his brain for the first time. With the help of a Neuralink implant called telepathy, he can again communicate with the computer - but not with a mouse and keyboard, but with the power of thought. In particular, he managed to play chess with the power of thought.
Elon Musk announced that the first users of the chip will be people who have lost control over their limbs. He also noted that the testing process will take about six years. Before this, research on the chip was conducted on animals.
In September 2023, Neuralink began recruiting volunteers to test the chips. The company is looking for candidates with tetraplegia.
Neuralink was founded in 2016, and its estimated value exceeds $1 billion. In April 2021, the company showed a monkey with a chip in its brain. The animal controlled the cursor on the computer monitor with the power of thought and thus played table tennis.
